Huvsgul is the 14th largest freshwater lake in the world by volume and its 380 cubic km of water make up over 1% of the world’s fresh water. The lake is elevated at 1 645 m above sea level and, its deepest, the lake is 262 m from its surface to bottom. Huvsgul shares many similarities in origin, flora and fauna with Russia’s Baikal lake, which lies 200 km to the east and is connected to Huvsgul by Egiin River. About a hundred rivers and streams pour into Huvsgul lake, but only the Egiin River exits the lake.
Take a flight to Murun town, the center of Huvsgul aimag, y. After arriving in Murun, we are having an excursion to Uushgiin uvur ancient site with rich collection of ancient deer stones and tombstones. There are 14 beautifully carved deer stones in the same area. Continue driving to Husvgul lake and arrive at ger camp by the lake. After being settled in a ger camp conveniently located on the western shore of the lake, we enjoy relaxing time in the refreshing settings of the beautiful lake. Overnight at Naranzangilaa ger camp.
After breakfast, visit the reindeer herders, the most primitive ethnic group in Mongolia. Experience riding reindeers and experience the primitive lifestyle of reindeer people residing the remotest part of the country. Have packed lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight at the ger camp.

Known as the “dark blue pearl” of Mongolia, lake Huvsgul is one of the country’s largest lakes and it features one of the most spectacular areas of the country. In the afternoon we are also visiting a reindeer settlement and Shaman spiritual place on the northwest of the lake. Evening return to ge camp and relax. Today we will drive to Khatgal village to take boat trip on lake by Sukhbaatar ship at 12.30p.m. The Sukhbaatar is only ship on the lake and used from Soviet era. In Khatgal we will visit lake information center to get more information about lake and nature conservation. Afternoon we have a horse riding trip among the lake shore and forest to the highest point if the area. Evening return at ger camp and relax. Overnight at Ashikhai ger camp.
In the morning transfer to Murun to take a flight to Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to hotel or next connection of the tour.
