Day 1

Arrive in Terelj and cultural experiences
Transfer to Terelj National Park. On arrival at the camp you will be given time to settle into your ger and freshen up prior to a short 30 minute lecture about traditional Mongolian nomadic life in Terelj Lodge ger museum. Take the opportunity to explore a traditionally furnished ger “museum” and try some of the local mare’s milk or yak cheese before lunch. Special attention will be paid to the different saddles and bridles so unique to Mongol horse riding culture and history. Following dinner, you will be given a demonstration and training class for the traditional Mongolian sport of archery. Trails and a competition will be held. Overnight in ger camp.

Day 2

Horse riding
After breakfast, the riders depart to watch the milking procedure of the local horse herd. Riders are then matched to their horses, saddles selected and the horse trek begins. The route will cover some of the more remote grassland and forested areas of the National Park and should be under 25 kilometers in distance. Lunch is served as a picnic during the ride whilst horses are resting. Returning by a different route to the ger camp. Dinner. Overnight in the ger camp.
