The Bayangobi, located 270 km west of Ulaanbaatar, is a unique combination of forested mountains and desert-type landscape in the same location. Karakorum, the ancient capital of Mongols is one of the most popular travel destinations along with Erdenezuu Monastery, the second largest Buddhist monastery in the country. Karakorum city was established in 1220 and served as the capital of Mongols for 140 years.

Day 1

Arrival in Mongolia
Arrival at Chinggis Khaan International Airport or Ulaanbaatar Train Station and meet our guide and driver. Transfer to hotel and check in. Lunch and afternoon short city tour in Ulaanbaatar city: visit Sukhbaatar square, Chinggis Khaan’s monument, National Museum of Mongolian History, Bogd Khan’s Winter Palace Museum and visit Zaisan Hill for Panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2

Elsen Tasairkhai Sand Dune
Drive to Elsen Tasarkhai, sand dune stretched along the central Mongolian meadow steppe. On the way, visit Uvgun temple in the Khungu Khaan mountain area. Overnight at ger camp.

Day 3
Kharkhorum
Drive to Karakorum an ancient capital city of Mongolia with established in 1220 by Ogoodei Khaan, successor of chinggis Khaan. After being capital of Mongolian empire for 140 years, Kharkhorum destroyed by Chinese solders. According to the historical evidences, Kharkhorum was multicultural city hosts travels, merchants along the Silk Road. In 1586, the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, Erdenezuu started built nearby the ruin of Kharkhorum. Most construction materials of the monastery are taken from ruin of the old capital. Currently, Erdenezuu holds daily Buddhist service and partly operates museum where displays religious art works, tankhas and many other Buddhist objects. Beside monastery, there are many sightseeing such as Monuments of great empires, turtle rocks in Kharkhorum. Overnight at ger camp.
Day 4
Khustai National Park
Drive to Khustai National park was founded in 1993 to conserve biodiversity and facilitate the re-introduction project of the Takhi Mongolian wild horse well known as Przewalski horse. The Takhi is the ancestor of the Mongol horse. Beside Takhi rich habit of wildlife and flora makes the national park most significant. In addition, you can see the small sand dune Moltsog els. Overnight at ger camp.
Day 5

Ulaanbaatar
Early in the morning explore tour in the national park and historical monuments. After lunch drive back to Ulaanbaatar city. And free time for leisure; shopping in cashmere and souvenir shops. In the evening see Mongolian folk music and dance performance. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6

Departure
Check out the hotel and transfer to airport or train station. Tour ends.
