Bereeven Monastery
Drive to the Baldan bereeven Monastery, dubbed as an Utai of Outer Mongolia was in 1777 by Lama Tseveendorj, one of the high-ranking Tsorjs of Bodg Khaan. The monastery was larges Buddhist center in the eastern Mongolian where served more that 8000 lamas and hosted prayers from Inner Mongolia. Before 1930’s, four large monasteries and other small temples were consist of Baldan Bereeven Monastery. Location of the monastery is well planned; surrounding mountains, forest and scenery are perfect harmony of natural beauty and monastery construction. Under the darkest shadow of the communist purges in 1930’s monastery was destroyed completely and only ruin of the main temples and some Buddhist image carvings in the northern mountain rocks are left. As an other monasteries in Mongolia Baldan Bereeven monastery was restored since democratic changes in 1992s. Overnight at ger camp. |
