This horse riding expedition near Karakorum, the capital city of medieval Great Mongol State and the heart of the large empire is an invaluable experience. Combining natural beauties of central Mongolia with legacies of Buddhism with its architecture and arts, this tour is also designed to give the best experiences from central Mongolia whilst enjoying adventurous horse riding.

Day 1

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and city tour
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and check-in a four-star hotel. You will have a guided half-day city tour including excursions to Sukhbaatar square and Zaisan memorial hill and a visit to the National History Museum. In the evening enjoy Mongolia traditional folklore concert and a welcoming dinner will be organized in a local Mongolian restaurant.

Day 2

Bus transfer to Karakorum
After breakfast in the morning, bus transfer to Karakorum, the ancient capital city of the Mongol Empire. Lunch at tourist camp in Bayangobi area. After arriving in Karakorum late afternoon you are visiting Erdenezuu monastery. Overnight in a ger camp by the Orkhon River.

Day 3

Khujirt Natural hot spa
This morning saddled horses will be ready for your lengthy horse journey. The journey starts heading towards Khujirt hot spa. You will have lunch in a spot midway between Karakorum and Khujirt. Our cook will have already prepared lunch by the time you arrive in that spot. After dinner in Khujirt ger camp you can have medical hot spa treatment. Overnight in gers.

Day 4

Baga Hurhree or Small Waterfall
Today is another lengthy riding day to reach the Orkhon River where we are camping near the small Orkhon waterfall by the ancient Turkic gravestones. Overnight in gers at the camp.

Day 5

Ulaantsutgalan or Orkhon Hurhree
You are riding up along the Orkhon River to reach Orkhon River. It is an interesting part of the journey as you are traveling along the legendary Orkhon River where there are a number of ancient stone monuments and plenty of summer settlements of local nomads. You are enjoying the scenery of the Orkhon waterfall – the largest waterfall in Mongolia. Apart from merely enjoying the scenery and taking photos you can also try fly fishing and swimming in the river. Overnight in ger camp.

Day 6

Orkhon Bridge
You are going across the river and traveling down to Orkhon Bridge along the opposite bank of the Orkhon River. We are spending the night in tents for the first time. Our cook will prepare both lunch and dinner making sure everything is ready by the time you arrive in spots carefully chosen by our expert travel escorts.

Day 7

Tuvkhun Temple
Leaving the bank of the river and arriving in the beautiful natural environment surrounding Tuvkhun Temple. Settle in a tourist camp on the southern slope of the mountain where the famous temple stands. Overnight in gers.

Day 8

Excursion to Tuvhun temple
This is a very interesting day with awesome natural sceneries are combined with enchanting Buddhist culture. We are visiting Tuvhun Temple, which was built by 16th century religious ruler Zanabazar. There are number interesting sights related to the biography of the famous Mongolian religious leader and artist. He created some of his famous 21 taras here. The nature is awesome, the temple is splendid. After having lunch near the temple, your trip continues northwards to Tsagaan sum sight where you will arrive in Ikh Khaan Khubilai tourist camp. Overnight in gers.

Day 9

Tuvshruuleh country
You are traveling across green steppe zones to the north east heading towards Tsenkher Jiguur hot spa, which is a bit too long for one day of traveling. Today we are spending the second night in tents.

Day 10

Tsenheriin Jiguur hot spa
Today you are arriving in Tsenkher Jiguur hot spa resort, where our horse riding journey across the most beautiful spots nearby Orkhon River and valley ends. You are having a relaxing evening bathing in the hot spa. Overnight in gers.

Day 11
Hustain Nuruu
Leave the hot spa camp in the morning by vehicle to arrive at the Hustain Nuruu natural reserve, where Przewalski horses, the last truly wild horses are being raised. Overnight in gers.
Day 12
Viewing wild horses at Hustain Nuruu
This morning we are having walking trip to witness wild or Przewalski horses that are being reintroduced back in the wilderness from European zoos. Transfer back to Ulaanbaatar by bus. You are watching a traditional folklore concert this evening. Overnight in hotel.

Departure
Transfer to the airport for departure.
