TOUR ITINERARY:

Day 1 Ulaanbaatar
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to the hotel. Tour Sukhbaatar square in the heart of the city and the Museum of Natural History with its splendid collection of Dinosaur exhibit. Mongolian traditional folklore concert. Evening motor coach tour of Ulaanbaatar, including the War Memorial at Zaisan if time permits. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 Khovd town, Tsambagarav Mountain
Fly to Hovd town. After arriving in Hovd depart to Namarjaa valley on the southern slope of the Tsamgarav Mountain. It takes about 3.5 hours to get there by our Russian 4 wds. The view in Namarjaa valley is fascinating with herds of sheep, goats, cattle, horse and yaks dotted along with gers of local nomads in the green valley. Our cook will meet us at the camping sight with delicious dinner already prepared. Overnight in tents.

Day 3 Hongio River
Today we are riding horses along the valley to Hongio River, where we will spend the night. The total distance of the road is about 25 kms. We are having picturesque view of Tsambagarav mountain and visiting a local herder’s family in the way.

Day 4 Doroo Nuur Lake
Continue our horse riding tour to Doroo Nuur, one of the most beautiful small lakes in western Mongolia located on the border of Bayan Olgii and Hovd provinces. Overnight by the lake. Approx. 35 kms.

Day 5 Huh Serhiin Nuruu National Park
Ride to the direction of Deluun soum, along the high ridges of picturesque national park of Huh Serhiin Nuruu. Overnight in tents. Approx. 40 kms.

Day 6 Chihertei River and canyon
Ride westwards to Chihertei River and canyon. On the way to our camping sight we are visiting a kazakh family with eagles trained for hunting. Approx. 35 kms.

Day 7 Ulaagchin
Continue our ride southwards to Ulaagchin, where we are spending the night in much higher altitude, about 2500 meters above sea level. Approx. 30 kms.

Day 8 Ulaagchin canyon
From this point we are riding over the green plateau over the top of Altai mountain range and arriving in Ulaagchin canyon. Continue riding along some of the highest ridges of Altai and arrive in Jargalant. Approx. 40 kms.

Day 9 Sunhul Nuur Lake
We are arriving in small community of Sunhul, mostly resided by western Mongolian kazakhs and small ethnic minority of Uriankhai. We are visiting a Rancho family. Uriankhais are famous for their hospitality among all Mongolians who themselves are known to be very hospitable.

Day 10 Munkh Khairkhan
Today are arriving in the beautiful lake of Sunkhul, surrounded by Uriankhai and Kazakh gers and hundreds of herds dotted along the valley near the lake. This time we will have ample opportunities to witness nomads moving their gers loaded on the back of camels as it is time for them to move from summer place to autumn places. We will also have very good view of Munkh Khairkhan peak, one of the highest peaks in Altai mountain range.

Day 11 Great Ulaan Davaa Mountain pass
Today we will continue ride to the direction of Ih Ulaan or great red mountain pass, one of the most famous and highest road passes in Mongolia. On the way will see the highest elevated lake in Mongolia. via the splendid Gurvan Senkher Cave, where we will have a picnic lunch at a nearby tourist camp. The twin chamber of the cave measuring approximately 130 meters and 90 meters respectively hold traces of residence of prehistoric people dating back to Bronze Age. On the wall of the larger chamber there are numerous ancient rock inscriptions. Overnight in ger camp near Khovd town.

Day 12 Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast at the camp visit the local museum and transfer to local airport. Fly back to Ulaanbaatar and transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 13 Ulaanbaatar
Today enjoy sightseeing in the city with visits to Gandan Monastery and National History Museum. In the evening visit foot reflexology parlor and sauna to relieve you stress. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 14 Departure
Transfer to Chinggis Khaan international airport for departure
